Professional Experience and Employment

This is a resume created to assist me in seeking employment as a music educator. Earliest of the experiences listed herein include my careers in property management, and in the food service industry, where I started as a cashier at Nordstrom Cafe, eventually managing a Nordstrom Cafe in Vancouver, Washington, and then opening my own restaurant/music venue in downtown Portland called the Great Hall. It has been more than a decade, and they are different fields, but I note some of this to indicate my commitment to a strong work ethic, loyalty and professionalism, as well as my ability to organize, discipline and manage operations. Yet, all my adult life, I have worked as a music instructor. I have taught guitar theory and improvisation to students of guitar and piano since the late 80’s. I have been studying guitar myself for over 42 years. My affiliations as a music teacher have been with takelessons.com, Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation Department (THPRD), and through my own teaching studio, Six String Academics, as indicated below. Teaching music is my passion and purpose.
